Another Truck Question - Dodge Ram GDG
Okay, we've covered the four wheel drive thoroughly, now I have another question, based on performance and fuel economy, which motor is better than the other.
Looking at new 2008 loaded well below MSRP, some of the packages are 4wd with a 4.7 and some with a 5.7 and 4wd or not.
According to what I have read, the 5.7 Hemi will get better mileage in theory. But does it really.

I looked it up, according to it they have (4.7 snd 5.7) but according to using the MDS properly going 60 to 65 you can potentially get 20 mpg. Since thius figure varies, the EPA doesn't show that. Also, there are several variables with it, I wanted to know if anyone actually has a HEMI
I have a Hemi, but I have a topper on the back now - before then, highway driving I would get close to 20 mpg, in town around 16....
We won't discuss what I get now! HA....

I have a 2003 Dorge Ram Quad Laremie package with a topper. In town [Orlando] 13/14 mpg
On the road - 19/22 mpg depending how long at around 65/70/75 mph. As in going to VA from Orlando.
Going to WPB, got around 18 mpg on the turnpike, around 65 mph. Seems the slower you go the less mpg you get. crazy, huh?
No complaints from me or my girls. Besides, rides like a dream, can walk when you get out after 3 hr stretch of driving.

Why forget that, isn't that what makes get better fuel mileage?
I have a 2008 ram with the hemi and a topper. I get 16mpg around town. Last year I took a trip to Canada and got around 22 - 23mpg.
