As a New York resident who hunts in Pennsylvania I carry a permit for both New York and PA.
It takes quite a bunch of money (100.00) minimum and time, (almost 12 months)
to legally get a permit in New York.
When applying in PA , the county clerk checked my NY permit, called the NY state police and issued it on the spot.
According to her, after all the hassle of getting on in NY there was no need to wait.
While PA recognizes other permits, NY does not.
Although I could probably go down to one of the side streets in Rochester and bypass all the crap and just get one illegal.......

We must have better bureaucrats than you....even though they say to allow 60 days for the permit arrival....I have always received mine within two weeks.

More to the point
In 2007-2008 Florida issued 32,740 NEW permits
From July 1 2008-March 31 2009 66,378 NEW permits have been issued.
They are just a little over worked and thus they are taking a bit longer.

In the news today.....CWP holder kills robber who held a gun in his face before the CWP holder used good gun control and killed the dirtbag
