    Default Baseball GDG

Are there any baseball fans in here?

    The races are heating up.
St Louis and Cubbies looks to be a dandy!

My Dad (rip) and me used to argue like crazy about politics......there was always baseball!
(that's why I put it here, so Chris could see we are all buddies!!)

I got the Redbirds doing it this year against the Yankees!!

He'll yea there are baseball fans in here!!!!! The race is just as exciting out west too. My Giants avoided the sweep (mind you the absolutely got the hose job from the umpireing crew the whole series) thank god and are in a battle for the wild card. He'll I think if we can hold out on this 11 game road series we still have a shot at the division. When the Giants last went to the series in 2002 we were 10 out at this point in the season. I am keeping the faith

    Go Giants

I watched the bru ha ha live on ESPN/MLB yesterday.

    WTH??

The catcher got upended, then an inside pitch.

Like the old days, the Giants & Dodgers, a rivalry form the 40's.

But the whole picture wasnt shown....

The reason Martin was upended...was because the throw was HIGH, from the 1st base side...natually he would have his back to the runner comming from thrid and he had to jump to catch it, and he is natourious for BLOCKING the plate like a good catcher should...he OWN'S the plate untill someone removes him from it which is exactly what happened.

Problem is the Giants got HOSED all series long...Bochey got ejected TWICE in a 3 game series. Game one, Schanez was called out at first in a very pivital point in the game and it was very obvuous that he was safe...

In game three, not only did Bochey get ejected later the bench coach that took his place got ejected because of another HORRIBLE call...

this last game was TERRIBLE...the umpires had it in for the Giants..2nd inning Sanchez called out again, obiously by more than a foot he was safe (Bochey ejected) 4th inning M. Ramierz was OBVIOULSY picked off a first on a back door throw from Molina (catcher, giants) called safe..HORRIBLE call..in the bottom half of that inning a failed doubble play that resulted in the umpire watching second base called Sandoval (giants) out on a false tag, the dodgers SS didnt even have the ball in his glove, the 1st base ump overrulled him and called the runner safe, but in doing so missed the play at first where Sheriholts (giants) was safe by more than 3 feet and he called him out....

then the hole bench clearing issue you talked about...SANDOVAL was HIT BY THE PITCH...and he didnt even get to go to firstbase....thats what he was mad about, he wasnt awarded 1st base...I think they were saying that he swung at the pitch which is questionable if you watch the pitch.

Then in the top on the 9th with Tim Linsacomb throwing a CG and the win. he gets HOSED on another obviously blown call with Fercal (Dodger) out at first and called safe..he eventually was the tying run..and had he been called out the next batter was walked and a doubble paly ball was hit....

    OHHHH well. spilt milk...

but I will say, the GIANTS and dodgers are back to the old glory....I was afraid with how young the Giants were that some of them wouldnt understand the bitter hatred for the dodgers...but I think they got there first taste of it this series and it should keep it going for a long time.

I went to my first WS game in 1964.

The Cradinals were like 9 games out with 15 to play and they wom the pennant.

    And then the HATED YANKEES!!
