I deer hunt north of San Antonio. There is a crazy guy that lives/holds up on an adjacent property. Everytime I see him he always talks about conspiracies. From the normal "Who killed Kennedy" stuff to how Jews are Lizards that brought over pork to poison the American people, how the Frost Bank Tower in Austin will teleport people to Death Valley, CA which will be filled with billions of gallons of burning diesel fuel, how drinking 35% peroxide is the only "medicine" you need, etc. On the 12 hour drive home, I researched many of the big points that were included in the pages of his propaganda packet. My conclusion is that the level of craziness of the people who come up with stuff like this is greatly exceeded by the level of gulliableness of the people who believe them. There was not an original thought in the entire packet, all the crazy stuff was written by someone else and he just repeated it.

If you would read this speech without knowing who read it publically, I hope everyone would agree with the overall message of needing to take responibility into your own hands.

Point out a few facts and get called a "clown". THAT debate tactic is referred to as "name calling" and typically works only up to about 5th grade.

As for sterotyping, let me give you an example:

And for the record, I referred to the "far right" or "extreme right", not just the "right". I think there's a difference.

I find the speech, talk or whatever you call it quite hypocritical. He want these kids to stand on their own 2 feet and rely on themselves to succeed and live a good life. Yet everything he has proposed are done all points to everything provided or done by the government.

I actually read and re read today's message and think it sure follows what conservatives believe in, sure glad this was a do as I say not as I do speech. To bad he didn't tell the kids that are in crappy schools that he does not believe in school vouchers.

Did I not try to clarify this for you or are you looking for something specifically in the speech. I don't think there is any there there. He did however work health care into his talk to the school kids in Virginia before the national address although it was in response to a students question.

Little kids look up to the President of the United States as something very special.
In this case the position was not abused.
It seemed a positive message to me.

Yea, well if I had kids in school I would not let them drink out of the school water fountains or eat the food in the school cafeteria. Those tricky democrats I know are up to something.

What right did Obama have to tell our young kids to stay in school and study hard that one day they may become doctors, lawyers, teachers, or maybe even politicians. Hell, everyone knows that the backbone of America is the working stiffs. What would we do without kids dropping out of school and working in factories, construction laborers, garbage men, pimps & whores, drug dealers. I say we need to dumb down kids so they do not grow up to be republicans.
