Default Carwash Noise Should I be concerned

I have a 5 month old CLM. Things are going pretty well. He has been around blank pistols and over the weekend we shot a 20 gauge in the field (1st at a distance then moved closer and closer) with absolutley no problems.

Today he is riding through the automatic carwash with me (type with big brushes) he takes a look at the brushes hears the noise and curls up in the seat the passenger seat. I would say he was pretty uneasy. At that point not much I could do, but wait it out.

Got home did some retreives with bird wings everything is normal. Ran the cordless drill, shop vac, skill saw all noises he is familiar with. No problem with any of these noises.

Should I be concerned or am I worried about nothing?

Relax, I dont think they hold trials or tests at the car wash...lots of foreign noises scare dogs, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, lawnmowers...especially fireworks..but not gunfire, go figure....

You absolutely should be concerned. Washing your truck BEFORE hunting season starts!
Next you will be using moisturizing skin cream, putting on guyliner and worrying your man purse does not go with your camo trousers.

Automatic carwashes are scary. Smart dog.

Didn't you see the previews to Final Destination?

Seriously though, it would be the odd dog that did NOT have a reaction to the noise and commotion of an automatic carwash.

next time you go to the carwash with your dog, take some treats with you..... nothing like some treats to make them feel better.... he'll soon get over the uneasiness....

Now see, I just stopped going to the carwash because it was too traumatic for my dogs and as I never go anywhere without at least one in the vehicle, well, now hubby has to wash the van.

Got kicked out of a car wash once, told to never return. Truck was too dirty, made big messy mud puddles all over.
    Now own pressure washer.

Also, AFC Rae is terrified of the ironing board. Can imagine how she would freak over the whirling brushes and the hot wax....

That is hilarious. When I first read that you were kicked out of a car wash I was thinking you did something indiscreet. Truck too dirty for the car wash...I've heard it all now.

Yea, well after the first NAHRA field test I was chairperson of. It rained in Addison, Vt. A bunch of folk were stuck in the blue clay. I pulled out lots of stuck folk. On the drive home I was pulled over by the Shelburne police for having a too dirty of a truck. Was deemed a safety hazard and the officer escorted me to the nearest car wash.

Oh my word, an ironing board, that is rich. Sometimes, you wonder what gets in their doggy heads. But, good excuse not to iron either.
