What's the word on Ammo? Last I heard she was within a few points of setting the new high Derby point record. Just wondering.

She and Bill are running the Sunday derby today at Michiana I believe. We were going to stick around and watch if the Q did not finish last night.
Good luck Bill, Micki, Ammo and the rest of the field in the derby!
According to posting on Events, Ammo won at Michiana, 119 points!
Congratulations Bill, Miki, and Ammo.

Wow! How cool is that! It's not every day that you get to "see" history made! Congratulations Ammo!!

Congratulations!
I'm just bummed we are not going to have Emmit, Bullet & Ammo at Cimarron this weekend![]()
I can't help but notice that Ammo is being double staked at Metro...Derby and Amateur.
That's one helluva jump for a dog that hasn't run a qual yet (according to EE).
But that is gonna be one nice derby field....Ammo, Emmit, Bullet and some other very nice dogs.
junfan68, there have been many dogs over the years who never ran a qual... It may be a helluva jump...but they are the ones doing the jumping. They may never run a Q. Most really top derby dogs don't spend much time in the Q anyway. Heck, if he's entered in the Am maybe he should have entered the Open as well...
Most people thought they were biting off more than they could chew when they started running derbies with Ammo at 6 months of age. They told him he was going to ruin his dog by running 4 or more derbies in a row when she was young. They said he was nuts for double staking her most weekends and that she would not hold up. I think Bill & Micki have proven by now that they are not your ordinary weekend trialers. They have had a plan from day one and stuck to it. It really does not matter if she completes the AM or the derby at Metro...one trial does not mean anything... These dogs will be judged and remembered for what they do over the course of their careers, and that is really just getting started.
