I find listening to those with opposing views very often enlightening. I don't agree with much of what I hear, but if it helps me understand another point of view, then it makes me a more rounded person.
While deployed on a fortunately very boring operation for 6 months, I read Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto and Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations, back to back to help understand the conflicts between communism and capitalism. I also read the Bible and Q'uoran. I'm not sure which contrast was more interesting.

Based on his past movies I understand the skepticism, but I think we're missing the point of the movie. It claims to examine the price we pay for uncontrolled capitalism, highlighting the insurance company give aways, the saving of wall street at our expense, and the banking industry bailout......all at taxpayer expense, something I've heard much griping about in this very forum. Maybe people are afraid they will find something to agree with him about??

Those bailouts and give aways had nothing to do with capitalism. Capitalism lets the weak fail so something better will rise from the ashes. Capitalism keeps companies and individuals on their toes to innovate new stuff to replace the old stuff before they fail. Those bailouts were Solcialist moves of taking from those that produce and giving to those who fail. Maybe the movie should have been titled the Evils of Socialsim.
