Credit goes to a Physics Instructor I once had. He used the phrase anytime someone failed to indicate who the plural pronoun 'we' was referring to. You said "we respect a man that 'gets around town"....(I am not aquainted with anyone here that would agree with that statement). He addressed male and female alike...'You pregnant' (person + child = 2 = plural) 'or got a toad in your pocket?' (person + toad = 2 = plural). A twofold response, yes humor and also a request to identify 'we', neither however, a personal attack.

That's as polite as I can put it Dogger, now, let's see some of that Rio Grande Valley class show through.

'We' was used in its editorial sense. You wish to not be included, granted.

The phrase is somewhat obscure, hence my misinterpretation.
