At the Pittsburgh Symphony's show Saturday night, the opening piece was none other than the National Anthem. It was quite moving to hear a full symphonic version in an indoor venue, in all its splendor. What was even more moving, was to hear the crowd damn near drown out the instruments singing along. Young, old, all colors, all political persuasions coming together for a few minutes of national pride.
I'm going to write the president of the symphony and suggest they begin ALL concerts with the national anthem, and have a local BSA troop present colors.
