Trainers in NE Oklahoma?

Hi All, I'm new to the forum here but have been a Lab enthusiast and waterfowler for the last 14 years.

I have a new pup coming in early December, and he will be my future hunting companion. I have previously trained my other dogs myself with different degrees of sucess using Richard Wolters methods.

I want to make sure that my new pup will be a solid hunter, and well beahaved the blind, so I'm considering using a professional trainer?

Does anyone here have any experience or know a good, reputable trainer in NE Oklahoma? I'm not interested in using anyone that employs "harsh" training techniques as my pup will also be a family dog.

I would greatly appreciate any reccomendations or suggestions.

How do you define "harsh?" What is the connection to the dog being a family dog?

Tulsa Retriever Club is having a meeting Tuesday night 7:00pm at Bass Pro Shop. Meeting room is up stairs by the waders. We are very familiar with all the pros in the area, Im sure we can help you out.

Personally, one the best in the area for HT dogs is Derek Randle at War Eagle Retrievers. He has incredible grounds in Miami, OK.

Selecting a pro will also depend on what you are looking for...hunt test, field trail or somewhere in between.

Good catch Ed, the room is in betwween the waders and the toilet, you will need waders in the meeting room.
