Just exactly the type of responses I expected to get when I posted this thread. They are a perfect reflection of the jingoistic, militaristic, go it alone foreign policy that has been the bedrock of the Republican Party and the conservative right.

Well I guess the Narcissism Czar has done his job!

No matter the rank, 7th, 1st or 71st, I would venture to say that even those in other countries who ranked us low would still LOVE the opportunity to live here.

I was thinking along similar lines. My best guess would be that non-democratic, not-very-wealthy countries make up the bulk of the countries in the world. Kind of interesting that the top 5 on the "admiration list" would be those who have very democratic, economically successful profile.

While among the top 5 you see a socialistic trend, significantly missing from the top 5 might be Iran, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, other notables whose "approval" the U.S. seems to be courting in various ways.

I really wouldn't care that Attila The Hun, Hitler, or Rasputin might, were they alive today, have a rather low opinion of the U.S. or the other countries in the top 5. I'd be more interested in what Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, or George Washington might think of how the U.S. turned out as a result of their labors.

    words and surveys mean squat.
There are thousands of people everyday risking their lives to come here.

And he has done what for this Country with his foreign popularity?

Couldn't even bring home the Gold bid for Chitown (took last once he got involved).

It would be nice to see him stop trying to be a Rock Star and be our President!

THAT would be an interesting poll.

Lincoln, Jefferson et al are spinning in their graves since the messiah took over in Jan. over how far into hades their once wonderful republic has sunk.

Buzz, you must also be excited that China has moved up the list for the first time ever.

Anyhow, has anyone been able to find the complete list of rankings? Thanks
