    Smile Road Trip !!!

Going down to Nashville to do my apprentiship to Judge AKC Junior. I sure have been looking forward to getting this done. THEN the other good part I am going to run one of my young dogs on Sunday. Was gonna run Maxx in Senior but he came down sick today when I was getting ready for the trip. Guess I will have to scratch hm as he will be staying home keeping my wife company and recuperating. Good Luck to all that are entered. Hope everyone has a safe trip down or up to Nashville to Middle Tennessee Retriever Club's HT.

May want some of the cold gear too...especially if you're from the south.

    Thumbs up

WOW !!!!! what a weekend! I had a great time and saw some great dog work and sadly some not so great....................BUT I believe all that ran had a good time. The handlers were really anxious about the setup on water on our Saturday test. I believe when their dogs did well they would really be proud of their pass. They earned it. As an Apprentice I had the opportunity to hear the judges reasoning behind the setups and to tell the truth I was predicting in my mind only a few dogs would pass. NOT the case very few did not pass. NOw for the fun part I got to run my Voodoo dog on Sunday. She passed but almost gave me heart failure on her first mark. It is funny how a dog can HUMBLE you very quickly... I know "my dog never does THAT". Got a little cocky before running about her marking and she took a big hunt right off the bat....LOL. I guess she wanted me to know she was the one doing the work and I was just the duck catcher.....LOL.. Another highlight was my Friend getting 2 passes on his dog ..made it a sweet weekend for us both. Another highlight was seeing Jason pick his O/H BLUE in the Q !!! My heart felt thanks goes out to the whole MTARC for allowing me to participate in their event. Got to see some old friends and hopefully made some new ones. My special thanks go out to the judges in Junior Sally Koepke and Jim Price for letting me Apprentice under them. I also want to thank Jim Smithberger and Sean Hager for putting on a FUN test on Sunday. It was also my pleasure to meet John & Linda Marchica. Their Master tests were something to see. I got to see my Boss pup's Dam and one of my Maxx's daughters run . It was a rewarding experience for me. Great bird technicians too..LOl. I also want to thank my dear wife for being a Nurse for Maxx while I was away . Now he's really spoiled.....LOL. But better too !
