holy cow! what a great day!!!!!!! how many shooters? any other dogs??? great great shots!
and i have to ask about the vest - its early, was it because of temps? getting him used to it because in 3 weeks he will need it? unknown dangerous stuble under water????
Awsome!!!! Our season here in Ohio opens next Saturday. If we get half of that total I'll be thrilled to death. Very Very nice!

Dang...
How many hens are you allowed up there?
And don't try to hide that Hollywood on the end.![]()
These are field trials and the people involved largely don't understand a normal day much less a "normal days hunt".
Thanks,
There were 4 shooters, and 2 dogs. The other dog only retrieved 6 birds each day so Tanner had to retrieve almost all the birds.
The temps were below 30. This morning Tanner had Frost on him. It was Cold. Our River is very Fast Current and does not have any Underwater dangers. I have a vest on him everytime we hunt. Does not matter, It is more for Safty. You should see his vest it is ripped every where.
KEN- Look Really hard. Those Hens you ar talking about are Gadwalls. Its ok A lot of people think Gadwalls look like hen Mallards then there are Wigeons mixed in there to. LOL my Husband shot the Hollywood. LOL

I've never heard the term Hollywood. Which duck and picture are we talking about?

Lucky dog to get to hunt over so many guns! Wish my dog looked that clean when he's done. He's covered in swamp mud from head to toe!

I have a great Texas classic recipe for spoonbill if you're interested...
Just to compare bag limits and out of curiosity to see if they are any different - Texas allows 6. No more than five may be mallards and no more than two mallards may be hens. No more than three woodies, no more than two scaupe or redheads, one canvasback, one pintail (doesn't have to be a drake, but setting the limit at one kinda tips the survival odds against those fellows sporting pin feathers, don't you think?), and one black/mottle/dusky duck. We're only allowed one Mexican squealer, although I'm not sure I would shoot one anyway. And oddly enough, someone went to the trouble to put a daily limit on coots (15). Otherwise, if it flies it dies - hen or drake.
By the way, great looking dog. Probably took a nice nap that afternoon...
