    Default Daughter and ducks

Looks like I found my new bird boy....opps.....girl for next summer. Got back from duck hunting the other day. My 2 year old daughter came out to see ducks. I was waiting for her to cry because they were dead. Nope, she was thrilled to be able to touch ducks. She now says "daddy go get ducks". I reply the best way I know how. Yes mam. I can't wait to be able to train and hunt with here. Also, As of Sunday we have a new addition to our growing family. I'm becoming out numbered. Guess I'll be sleeping with my dogs before long when I get into trouble.

Congrats Mr Glass. My 28 month old daughter can now throw a Dummy far enough that teh dogs recognize that she threw it (15 feet or so) Will be a while on the thworing a duck, but I think that I will try to take her to sit in the blind with me a few times this fall. We also have a new baby but our new one is a boy.... Can't wait to have to full time bird helpers....

Perhaps our kids will be running dogs together someday....

I remember my first hunting trip with my daddy, I must have only three or four years old. Pretty sure I dozed off in the blind, but I remember after the shooting had stopped, the dog was sent for the long birds and I ran around collecting the close ones. I picked up a cripple by the neck and, excited that this one was alive, looked him right in the eye: "Hello, Mr. Duck!" He responded by scratching me in the face, lol. My mom was pretty horrified when her little girl came back from a hunting trip all scritched up. Still, always looked forward to hunting with my daddy and those first few trips sure fueled a lifelong addiction!

Paige getting ready to train/telling me what she wants to do at about 15 months

Paige doing her two favorite outside things swinging and holding bumpers

And finally Paige after an afternoon "hunting" (camara not gun) snow geese last spring. I had to watch her one afternoon while the geese were in the area, didn't want to risk spoiling my buddies hunt, so we went out by our selves and just watched em fly over..... She has the bug

And Mr. Glass, I hope so. What is the saying, hunt with your kids and you won't have to hunt for'em!

Awesome pics. thanks for sharing them with me/us. Wish I had the goose bands that you/she has on the whistles. Paige is cute as can be. If we lived closer I'd say they could be best friends. Best of luck this year and the years to come.

    Actually they aren't goose bands....

In NAHRA when you pass besides a ribbon you get a band to go on your lanyard or whatever.....

Started hunter and intermediate get "duck size" Bands....

The "big boy undie" division (Senior) get goose sized, Beamer hopes to have the lanyard filled in about two years....
