Default GDG..Pics of my buck from last weekend.

Nailed this buck last weekend with my muzzle loader. He was chasing 5 does. It seems early for rut but I think that snow a few weeks ago threw them off a little. He was ready for it though. He weighed 185lbs field dressed and his neck is huge. My freezer is full!

    Thanks everyone!

We scored him really quickly the night I got him and roughly figured him on either side of 140. No record but a keeper for me!

Rut should hit here in about few weeks. But we did see the bucks starting to push the does around already.

That's funny....I will have to remember that one. The land we were on has a lot of deer and they destroy crops and the landowner gave us a few depredation tags and he said that he wanted some of the young does gone. We helped him out with that and on one you could see the spots if you looked really hard. Those were about as much fun as the big ones. They are not real "street smart" yet! Plus it is nice to be able to drag it out of the woods by ourselves. Good eats on those little ones too!

The rut is typically in full gear sometime around the second weekend of November. I think it all based off of the amount of day light.

I still have my muzzy tag to fill going to get after it tomorrow morning. Didn't see a huge amount of deer moving last weekend. This cool weather should help some.
