I have no problem providing them healthcare. A sick population of detainees could pose a signifigant health risk to their guards.

Uniformed personnel already required to get the flu shots, so they would not be in danger from the detainees.
OTOH, the # of detainees is only around 200, as I understand it, so I doubt that those few numbers of vaccines would make much difference in the larger scheme of things.
However, a friend just told me of a death of an in-remission cancer patient who died from this flue since his immune system was still not recovered from his treatments for the cancer. (husband of one of her friends)
Also mentioned in the article was that the supply of vaccines for the detainees was coming from the "second batch" ... which had not yet arrived; so it would not have saved the cancer patient.

I heard we give them food and water too!!
This is outrageous! What next?
This is an area where Obama is very disappointing. This IS America, not Romania or North Korea, where people are locked up and never heard from again. We need to decide what court to try these people in, and give them their day in court. No, they do not need the same rights and comforts as American citizens, but they do deserve their day in court. If guilty, give them death or whatever incarceration is warranted. If innocent, then they need to be returned to their country. In this particular case, we are not upholding the moral torch that the rest of the world has come to look up to in the United States.

If they are segregated from the world, why are they at such a high risk to catch the swine flu?![]()
