From our local paper, about the recent transit worker strike in Philadelphia:

Rendell and Brady had announced a tentative agreement late Friday, but it fell apart Saturday over the union's call ... for assurance that members would not be affected if the company's costs increased with possible passage of a national health reform plan.

Even the unions want to be insulated from any cost increases that may result from the health care insurance overhaul.

Gosh Paul, I would have thought you would have grasped the salient point, rather than to sink back into the wallowing of your fellow Obama followers.

I realize you and Iowa Keith are indebted to your unions for keeping you employed over the years, but I always thought it carried some intelligence with those beliefs, not falling on the sword for for an administration that would as soon send you a dead fish as award you with a watch at retirement.

If you missed the salient point about the Carter administration originating that do-nothing bureaucracy that still exists, despite never achieving one damned iota towards it's proposed goal...and how THAT might relate to the various bills being proposed by the present administration and congress, then I apologize for not spelling it out. Good grief, if it sailed over your head, how could it possibly have been understood by Roger?

first, i am not indebted to my Union. i have enjoyed 34 years of continuous employment because i work for a company that is aggressive in seeking out new contracts and because we deliver our product on time and under budget. it is a product that is in great demand and is probably the reason you are not attempting to insult me in Russian right now.i work hard and get exemplary performance reviews annually. i have done well and look forward to finishing up my career there.

i thank you for your concern for my lack of intelligence, ability to grasp the written word and the ability to understand when someone is calling me an idiot. please know that i consider my skills to be sufficient in this regard and that i share the same concerns for you.

and by the way, i think that the fact you brought up the Carter administration originating the DOE without mentioning all the others since that have perpetuated and, indeed, added layer upon layer of bureaucracy to it is quite typical of your posts.

everything you rail against did not happen over the past 10 months. it took decades to come to fruition under many different administrations. you can ignore that fact if you wish, but that is plain for all to see.

When I speak of liberals and things that I am unhappy with, I am speaking of the present and things that I feel should be done differently. When Roger constantly bashes past administrations and expresses his desire to prosecute Bush, Cheney etc, he accomplishing nothing and contributes no ideas or even comments regarding our present situation or the situation that it appears may come to fruition if the 'liberals' have their way. I try to stay current and more on topic than that. As far as I can tell, I don't just bash liberals. I dislike and disagree with the things that they are doing and trying to do. I may bash their policies and ideals, but not them as does Roger. PLEASE point out where I have harped on the past and bashed liberals of the past. PLEASE. No, really. I want to see it. Until then, I am not guilty of the same foolish behavior that Mr. Perry exhibits on here daily.
