Thread: Any Trainers in WI?

    Default Any Trainers in WI?

    Hello all,

I am new here and was wondering if any of you could help me in answering some questions. I am looking for any gun dog trainers in WI (closer to the east side of WI) and was wondering if anyone could help point me in a direction. Also I was wondering what the requirements were to even start looking at trainers. I currently have 2 Labs (8 months and 7 months and 1 week) who were never prof. trained. I have done all the training myself and they are very smart but I was wondering what basics they would need to know before sending them off? I decided it might be time to look for a trainer since I lack the knowledge in Field Training as well as the land and equipment. On this note, I was also wondering if anyone could give me a price range since I would want to send both my dogs. I also haven't reg. my dogs with AKC because I just planned on having my boys as good hunting dogs, but anything beyond that would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

Call and discuss what you have in mind. He is a great guy and will work with you and the dog, training both of you.

Rick Grant- Perfect 10 Kennels Cambridge---as to what they need to know- it deopends upon how long you want them at trainer and what you want of them- more they know before less time & $$ you will have to spend.

If per chance you find a pro trainer cost prohibitive, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP on training the dogs! It is impossible, IMPOSSIBLE for me to explain all the rewards that you AND your dogs will get out of training. And all it takes is about ten minutes a day.

There are a lot of good books out there. All you need is to get one, and stick with the program! After checking out the pros, if you need direction don't be afraid to ask.

Every singe one of us has been where you are.
