Or were you never in the conservative camp?

Until you hear NPR pushing global warming, or gun control, or animal rights and far out conservationists, you might find it to be your cup of tea. I used to listen also, until they started programming Bill Moyer. That's like listening to Bill Ayers on steroids.

Keep listening to Stern. He won't be there very much longer. That entire satellite operation is going under pretty soon, so catch him while you can.

Ok UB since you question my principles I will give you a little background. I was reared by yellow dogs and married a staunch republican. In the last five elects I voted for Clinton twice and Bush twice, or as my yellow dog family calls him Shrub, and for the first time since I turned 18 I didn't vote. Sometimes when you don't know what to do the best thing to do is nothing.

If by progressive you mean independent party no. The closest thing they have had to being relevent is Perot. Remember him he's the one that had a shot and quit in the middle, I hate quitters. Give me a viable option and I will consider them.

On Stern listened to that porn punk for about ten minutes ten yrs ago and never tuned in again.

As far as NPR just listened to a good segment about astrology. I never knew that the dark side of the moon was getting colder. Glad I tuned in.

So am I conservative, liberal, independant or just plain confused?

Tim, I like the music variety and most of the stories on NPR. In fact, my 4 Labs listen to NPR all day long as I keep it on in the garage. They sleep on a big sofa in the garage during the day and air in the backyard. I'm not crazy about thier politics but then again, that's what you have to put up with to get all the other great stuff they broadcast.

Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Ingrahm, etc appeal is mostly to white males over 55 years of age. They preach to their choir and alienate the rest of us. I'm in that white male 55 plus demo but would rather stick an ice pick in my ear than listen to those very rich fools.

Howard Stern's contact will soon end with Sirius and he is contemplating a return to broadcast radio. The highest bidder so far is Premier Radio Networks owned by Clear Channel Communications Inc. The same folks that own Limbaugh and Hannity's shows and also the same company in default with thier creditors.

I took over control of a rock station in New Orleans in 1997 that carried Howard's show. Howard's annual contract was soon up for renewal and I decided not to renew at $380,000. annually from our one station. I thought the show was too juvenile for a station targeting men21-44 with a New Rock format. We were the first rock station in America to diviorce Howard and not only survive but flourish. After it got out in the trades of our success, I must have spoken with every radio station in America that wanted to diviorce Howrad but where scared too. I simply told the that if they were playing the right rock N roll, sticking with New Rock and not getting too wimpy with the music, that they would do well. It was the rebirth of many a New Rocker format and today is the most listened to format by white males!

Oh, and I listen to ESPN radio most of the time during the football season. I don't listen to it much from February through August.

On the way to going hunting, I always try to catch Coast to Coast AM...those nutjobs will keep you awake in the truck at 3 am...
The irony is that they claim they don't listen to Rush or Beck, but know we do because we say what Rush & Beck say.....even though the leftys don't actually know what they say.

I think some might have missed that I included Keith Oberman in my first post. This wasn't supposed to be a left, right, radio, tv thing but how in the world can you give any of them credibility.

Do you remember Dennis Rodman? To me all of the ones I mentioned are peas in a pod with him. Just selling the product man gettin paid for selling the product.

I can't stand Keith Oberman and refuse to watch NBC's post NFL game warp up show because of him. I never watch MSNBC, especailly since I've gotten out of the stock market for good and moved on to real estate.

Dennis Rodman the x b'all ball player with multi-colored hair, the guy that was hanging with Carman Electra?

And I likewise doubt many on this list listen to Obama's speeches, but claim to know all about them! Probably because of what Rush/Beck/Hannity say about him?

I find most of the radio/TV political blowhards extremely irritating regardless of viewpoint. Often they have only a distorted understanding of what they are talking about. They are more interested in scoring points on each other, than being enlightening. But, if they can make you believe the end of times is coming, then perhaps they can get you to spring for a little investment in gold

Entertainers? Nah, they are just ordinary garden variety partisan fanatics. I can go down to the local pub if I want to hear the same tripe.

    Sorry rant is over.
There isn't much on radio worth listening to, but I have listened to Rush on occasion. Unless he is on his "A" game he gets shut off quickly. I did listen to KO when he was an ESPN TV person, I tend to listen to many on ESPN TV that I don't like but I like sports.

I usually take a bunch of CD's with me when I travel, & when they run out the radio gets shut off .

I did like RoadKill's analogy - the lefty's can quote talking points by Right wing hosts better than any of us, yet claim they do not listen .
