Obama really is dumb. Instead of legitimate debate, and attempts to include the opposition in the creation of the reform bill (160 republican added amendments), he should have just concocted a story about "germs of mass destruction" and the immediate threat to our safety if we don't pass a trillion dollar bill to wage "war" on this GMD. If you don't believe this carp, then you are an unpatriotic commie who lives in Cuba. Just spend the money by executive privilege (war powers act) and screw what the majority of Americans want or that great detractor of democracy, the Congress! And when it all comes out it was a hoax, you can put on a skit for the press walking around the oval office with a tongue depressor saying "where are they??" looking under cushions.

HC as an issue is not going to disappear . The issue was so mucked up that it will provide legitimate fodder for this Fall's campaign releases. As one person said "What have student loans got to do with HC?"

Nothing was done toward fraud nor tort reform, key Democrat constituencies. I own a HC stock that is being sued because someone lost money on an investment, have had good ideas go under when the lawsuits start. Wouldn't it be nice if that money could have gone to delivering a better product rather than some greedy Ambulance Chaser .

You should just use that post as your signature line, it would save you a lot of typing and you say the same damn thing in one form or another every day anyway.

The next big election issue will be a great debate over the reduction of Green M&Ms. It is expected the Blue M&Ms will push for an increase in Green M&Ms. And the Red M&Ms will say no/hell no and try to filibuster the Green M&M bill. It has been recently reported the far right fringe on the Red M&Ms have been see with Reese's Peanut Cups hanging from their hats. Some of the Blue M&Ms have proposed a compromise two tone M&M. Which has been rejected by the Red M&Ms, saying the founding candy makers never intended a two tone M&M.

I can't believe that you are now trying to bring EVOLUTION into the picture. Obviously, you have heard of the famous studies performed at Yale a few years ago. Monkeys were asked to choose between M&Ms of two different colors. As noted by NY Times Science Writer John Tierney,

"They found that once a monkey chose, say, a red M&M over a blue M&M, he tended to devalue the blue one. The monkey seemed to be avoiding buyer’s remorse by retroactively downgrading the blue M&Ms. That 2007 study with monkeys jibed with famous experiments with humans, and with the theory that we use self-delusion to avoid the mental discomfort (cognitive dissonance) of thinking we made the wrong choice."

Now, I could suggest that choices made about whether to identify yourself as a Republican or Democrat are as meaningless as the choices made between colors of M&Ms. Or I could point out how in attacking the party not chosen,we are simply evidencing a primitive self delusion to avoid the mental discomfort of thinking we might have been making a mistake with our first choice.

All that would miss the point. The real point is that in attacking the party not chosen, we are actually just making monkeys of ourselves and proving, yet again, the inextricable link between humans and our evolutionary ancestors.
