Default Any chance we can de-throne Pelosi?

Millions are hoping so, but none more than this dude.
Read and enjoy a man that tells it like it is. I am envious of his wordsmithing.

    Dear Ms. Pelosi:
I write to you out of utter disdain! You are as despicable and un-American as the traitor Jane Fonda.

I am a soon to be 65 year-old who has voted in every state and local election since 1966. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats alike. I have worked on campaigns for both Republicans and Democrats, white and black. I served the country that I love in Vietnam , as my son did in the Middle East . I was awarded two bronze stars. I have been involved in politics since age 6 when my father was campaign manager for a truly great American Congressman, Charles Raper Jonas, who worked for his constituents and his country, and was to be admired, unlike you.

You obviously haven’t read the Constitution recently, if ever, the Federalist Papers, or even David McCullough’s book on John Adams. You ought to take the time while riding around in your government provided luxury executive jet to do just that. You represent Socialistic and even Marxist principals that our founding fathers tried to avoid when setting out the capitalistic republican form of government represented by our Constitution.

I find it interesting that you and your husband are multi-millionaires with much of your fortune being made as a result of your “public service”. You have controlled legislation that has enhanced your husband’s investments both on and off shore. At the same time you redistributed the wealth of others. Our system of a free market economy is being destroyed by the likes of you, Harry Reid, and now our President. You ride around in a Gulfstream airplane at the tax payer’s expense while criticizing the presidents of companies who produced something for the economy. You add nothing to the economy of the United States ; you only subtract therefrom.

I would like to suggest that you return to the city of fruitcakes and nuts and eat your husband’s canned tuna and pineapple produced by illegal immigrants and by workers who have been excluded from the protection that 90% of the legal workers in the United States have.

I await your defeat in the next election with glee.

Don’t ever use the term “un-American” again for protesters who love this country and are exercising their rights upon which this country was founded. By the way, while I served in the Army, I was spit on by the same type of lunatics who support you and who you probably supported in the 60’s and 70’s. You are an embarrassment to all of us who served so that you would have the protected right of free speech to call us un-American. But at the same time, I have the right to write you to notify you that I consider you to be un-American, as do the majority of the people of this formerly great country. You are a true disgrace to most of the people who served this country by offering themselves for public service in the United States Congress.

I feel certain your aides will not share this letter with you, but I intend to share it with many.

This is the person that probably has the most power in the Democratic party. She holds the purse strings and to get anything thru money wise it has to go thru her...money talks power

The Power rests in the Senate. Most of Pelosi's agenda has died in the Senate. I don't believe the Senate was originally designed to have as much power as they currently wield. The stalemate and abuse of Filibuster rules have basically put a strangle hold on reform of American Policy. Pelosi is powerless to confront that.
My perception of what is happening is that Wall Street pretty much owns and controls the leadership of both parties in the Senate. The two political parties play a game of hit and run with each other bouncing the blame for lack of good government off each other. Many voters, probably about 50%, the base of both parties, have unfortunately, bought into this "blame game". It's a beautifully orchestrated camouflage of hide and seek. Decade after decade, we turn to twiddly dum or twiddly dee only to be let down while our country continues its spiral of decline.

The Senate is acting in its original intent.

The Senate has two members per state. Originally the Senators were selected by the state legislatures...until 1913. IOW, the Senate was never supposed to be a popular body but rather was to be deliberative.

DD....you oughta listen in American history class.

    Ahhh, DD "gets it".

    Bill Spitzer asks,

"Any chance we can de-throne Pelosi?"

A very good chance Bill...but to what end?

Replace one "owned" politician with just another?

The game will play out in November as surely as the sun rises, and the only thing that will change is who attacks who on POTUS PLACE.

WIN... and gird your loins. The attacks will be as relentless and mindless as they are now. They'll just come from another camp.

At some point will we "get it", Oh maybe...

IOW, the Senate was never supposed to be a popular body but rather was to be deliberative. Exactly. The Senate was designed to apply the brakes to over-reaching, purely populist legislation. There's the famous story about a conversation between George Washington and Thomas Jefferson where Washington equates the Senate to a saucer cooling the over-heated contents of a coffee cup (the House). You might have heard of those guys, DD...they are two of those old-timey dudes with the funny wigs who founded the country. You're probably only aware of them in the context of their slave owning history, but they also did some other bitchin' stuff, too.

DD....you oughta listen in American history class. History is for biatches, dude. It's way more fun to just make sh!t up that fits the story you're tryin' to tell.

    Entry from December 07, 2009
“The Senate is the saucer into which we pour legislation to cool” (Senatorial saucer)
The “Senatorial saucer” conversation between George Washington and Thomas Jefferson is part of U.S. Senate legend. Jefferson had returned from France and was breakfasting with Washington. Jefferson asked Washington why he agreed to have a Senate.

“Why,” said Washington, “did you just now pour that coffee into your saucer before drinking it?”

“To cool it,” said Jefferson; “my throat is not made of brass.”

“Even so,” said Washington, “we pour our legislation into the Senatorial saucer to cool it.”

The first evidence of this story appears in 1871. There were only a few witnesses to this conversation (if it took place), so the story might or might not be apocryphal. Some versions involve coffee, while other versions involve tea.

We all make stuff up, as suits our needs, hew. In any event, the actions of the Senate might have veered in the last couple of centuries...JD

It MAY happen that way. It MAY take a couple elections to get rid of your socialist oligarchy. I can only hope so for the sake of even your grandchildren.

If you can't see this administration ruining what was once a great nation, I pity your family and what they have in front of them. If you suddenly "get it", and begin to see how far in the toilet the present administration, with it's toady MSP supporting all that they do, has started flushing down what is important to a freedom loving country, welcome on board. Otherwise you are just a major part of the problem, and your future generations will be under sharia law, and as dependant on government as the unfortunates in New Orleans.

Sharia law??? Sharia Law??? Bill, what makes you think that you and me, and millions others, not to mention millions of illegals, mostly Roman Catholics are going to be rolled over, and come under the Rule of Mecca, because a mosque was built in NYC?
Have you been huffing the crock of jenkem steamed by the right-wing internet? I suspect so.
The sky is not falling on a freedom loving country.
Obama, (and he dissapoints me as well! For different reasons, however.)
is not the downfall of the USA. The political pendulum will surely swing, but when it does, don't be surprised if things remain much the same.
This country has been on a road to change for decades now. It will never be the way it was, or we remember it was.
It was not to long ago, I had a wind-up alarm clock, now my cell phone wakes me up. (well, mostly)

The world is changing around us. You can adapt and modify, or perish.

We post now on an internet BB. How quickly we learned to do that!

We can carp, bleat, warble and moan on PP to our heart's desire, but neither you, I, nor anyone else, will win any converts here on the internet.

We might seek, and get a slap on the back once and again, but it's mostly just blah, blah, blah.

At least I didn't just copy and paste someone else's thoughts, or give a link.

I tried to express my own thoughts. JDogger

I hope it's somewhere between you two but I'm not sure that will be so great either. I'll get the lights.
