No that's just a good buddy of mine. We used to fish a lot of tournaments together. He's new to hunting, but he's really getting into it.

Unfortunately, I never got the chance to share a SD hunt with my father before he passed. He would have loved it. I still take his old Browning A5 with me when I go, and shoot a couple of birds with it. It's my way of sharing the hunt with him.

Yup, I used my Pops old Ted Williams Sears & Roebuck shotgun to shoot the first duck.

We miss them, but they live on through us.
I hear his voice through me a lot now.

An earlier hunt for ducks, prior to pheasant and goose seasons. Da Babe was just barely tall enough to look at the birds on the cleaning table. He was 3 1/2 months old at the time. Looks like Tank was real bored by the entire situation.







This was the pheasant opener with my grandson. This turned out to be Chiefies final pheasant opener. He had a couple more hunts after this one, but we've had to send him on to the Rainbow Bridge. He was 12, and lived a full life to the end. This is the same pic as the first, but a better close up of Chiefie.








This was our pre-Thanksgiving hunt last Tuesday. That's my grandson Michael, and my eldest son Derek, who drove out from Salt Lake. He hadn't picked up a shotgun in 5 years, so it was fun to rag on his misses. Surprisingly, there weren't that many, and he shot more than his share of birds. Babe and Tank don't show up very well in this pic in their crates. Babe is now 5 months old and weighs 61 lbs.

Headed back out by myself on Friday morning, then I'm taking my daughter (almost 4 years old) for a quick wood duck hunt on Saturday. She's been begging to go for a while now...

After this year i am done. Hopefully they will come back to at least half of what it was.
