huntinman, I bet your dog had a helluva time retrieving him...
that's a nice bull Bill, been through Williams quite a few times, guess I better pay closer attention next time...nothing flatter shooting than a .270 and a WSM to boot, what kind of scope on that bad boy...got the rest of the elk that we took in Colorado, nothing leaner and tastier than elk tenderloin
Man, you are right about the meat. As good as anything I have eaten. Dall sheep may just edge it out though. The desert bighorn I got in AZ back in 2007 was pretty darn good too, just awful small in the body...

Never had the pleasure but that surprises me, I would have pictured either as being tough as an old goat..but then again they could be like lamb with a touch of mint jelly...it sounds like you may almost have the sheep slam ( Dall, Desert Bighorn, Alaskan Mountain Goat)....all you need is the Stone ?
Alaskan trip is very high on the list but dont think I want to see an Alaskan Brown or Grizzly without at least the .300 Win Mag instead of a fishing pole
Elk is one of my favorite's along with Antellope.
Bill, I hope you didn't do what I did for years and throw away the ribs. They are delicious!!
My all time favorite is Bald Eagle though!!!!
