What part did you find objectionable? The comment about victims of incest came from an interview she gave on a conservative talk show:

The straight jacket comment was obviously just opinion. I think the lady is crazy. That certainly wouldn't make her unique in the Senate, but I don't think that is a demographic that requires greater representation among our elected representatives. In the words of Jack Nicholson, "Go sell crazy somewhere else. We're all full up here."

Now, with respect to the "spin spin spin, its all fair game", I disagree completely regardless of the target or the speaker. When I quoted Angles, I quoted her accurately and I quoted her saying exactly what she intended to say. It's a statement that she has said before, said multiple times in that interview, and I'm sure reflects her belief. The only problem she has that has led her to stop doing public interviews is that she says exactly what she thinks, and alienates the people she wants to support her every time she opens her mouth. Her anger sells well, her opinions do not. For the spinmeisters running her campaign, the answer was clear -- don't let her speak.

With respect to the substance on her opinion on abortion, I actually understand her position much better than I do the opinions of those who would allow abortions in the case of incest or rape, but not in cases of consensual sex. If you truly believe that an in utero fetus is a human being with all the rights of a human being, the context of its conception does not diminish its right to live. In fact, the only valid reason for terminating a pregnancy would be to save the life of the mother. While we may not like it, "either/or" decisions are made in many cases where a failure to choose will result in the death of both.

Those who try to have it both ways and argue for allowing abortions in cases of incest or rape are actually doing what Obama suggested. They are demanding that an unwilling mother go through her pregnancy as punishment.

Personally, I have had too much experience with the impact of unwanted pregnancies on both mothers and children. While it may work out some of the time, it usually doesn't in my experience. And the children are the ones who suffer most, victims of both their parents and the law. I hope that we never return to where we were before Roe v. Wade, with abortions being performed with coat hangers and knitting needles by crooks and by the mothers themselves, with sometimes fatal results, because I have seen that also and never wish to see it again.
