    Default is Favre Done??

    Well, ……..
If so kind of fitting that his last game was/will have been, at Green Bay, as it should have been all along.
Just the excuse his coach needs, poor play, texting scandal, control issues.
Stubborn old feller finished the game on that ankle. Gotta give him that! That’s hard core!!!!

    It was a great career!

Like many though, they just don't know when to hang it up and that should have been two years ago.

And, shame on the Vikings for thinking a 41 year old QB was going to bring them to he promised land.

Depends on how much he's willing to sacrafice his long term health and comfort. They can inject him with cortizone and marcaine and let him play, so long as there are no unstable fractures, which there do not appear to by by report. (and the fact he finished the game)

He may have screwed himself out of a large enough market to get into broadcasting, but should have a good stint as a Viagra spokesperson. I guess the filming has already begun.

(I voted "yes" with the caveat that he may try to take an opening snap for one more consec start, then hang it up)

like the headline of the Sam Peckinpah movie "the Wild Bunch"...he stayed too long...I predicted on another thread this would end ugly and I hope I am still wrong, Favre has done nothing but tarnish a HOF legacy both on the field and off

what really sad is that the Vikings are going to squander the career of the best RB in pro football Adrian Peterson by making a suicide pact with the devil and banking on # 4

I think it's ridiculous to say that he should stop playing before he wants to give it up because he'll "tarnish" his great career.

My post on a WI sports board.

"I noticed about 2/3's of the way thru last season the "old man's" walk & run.

You see, I am an old man and I have walked the old man's walk and run the old man's run.
It's the message God sends that it's over.
And I loved to play ball too.
I worked so hard to continue to play, but in the end Father Time gets us all.

I have a man crush on Brett Favre, I admit it, I loved to watch him play.
I loved to watch Muhammed Ali, Michael & Tiger too.
One lesson I have learned in life, nothing lasts forever.

It kills me to say this, but my football hero is done.

Favre reminds me of an old hunting dog; at some point you should just leave them in the truck, but they still want to go, and you just can't say no to them. The old dog has earned the right to go out on his own terms. Problem is, you can slow down the game for the old dog, walk slower, take a lot of water breaks, stop and scratch their ears, even let them follow along on those last couple of hunts. You can't do that in the NFL, he has really gotten beat up the last couple of years.
