    just when you think the crap storm over the mosque being built near Ground Zero has subsided, there is a new report that the builders have a applied for a 5 million dollar federal grant...WOW...this will give people something to discuss at the dinner table on Thanksgiving

    The article cites:

    The local community board would have had no choice but to approve the development; not doing so would have been discriminatory.

    However, the question has always been one of what you "can" do v. what you "should" do.

    While the author states that opposition to the project has come more from those outside the neighborhood involved, I think that is due to the way all Americans view the 9/11 attack on NYC. NYC, that day, became a symbol of the entire U.S. ... just as the perpetrators intended it to be.
