I watched the Tim Pawlenty speech and was impressed, looks like he is in "campaign mode", never seen him go after BHO before, but I think that is the tone of CPAC...I was also surprised at the Donald's insistence that Ron Paul could be elected POTUS...that met with many jeers from the crowd...with that I would guess RP finishes in the top two in tonites ballots...let the games begin

Strange, because I thought I heard that Trump said just the opposite; that Ron Paul was NOT electable

Daniels - Unfortunately, he is physically short but apparently sensible
Gingrich - He lost my vote when he shut govt down, caved & then paid everyone for not working
Huckaby - He needs to stick to preaching
Huntsman - What makes him different than Cain?
Gary Johnson - Who? maybe JD in all his ennui can vet this guy
Ron Paul - What's he done besides bitch, so much that few listen
Pawlenty - Gov of MN is not a stepping stone to the R POTUS position
Romney - A health care package that doesn't work in MA
Santorum - Didn't he lose as the incumbent in PA
Thune - I donated to his campaign against Daschle, which has gotten me countless solicitations. I pointed out to him that the Farm Bill was too much & SD was exporting too many of it's best & brightest elsewhere due to a commodity economy. No Reply. From his mailers & his yearly Xmas card, my opinion is, this is a guy stuck on himself. No one who grew up in Murdo is worldly enough to run this country just as I said about McGovern "No one who grew up 12 miles from where I did is worldly enough to run this country."

    I still like "Jindal" .
But Gingrich did something no other nat'l leader has done since - his congress (while he was leader) presided over the last congress that balanced the budget and reduced the deficit - & he showed he could work with a democrat as president. Of course Clinton takes the credit and the press gives it to him. But that feat is something we need badly now. So he'll get my vote if he's the nominee.

I also like Pawlenty from MN.

Carrie Dann writes:For the second year in a row, conservatives attending the annual CPAC conference in Washington D.C. have selected Rep. Ron Paul of Texas as the winner of their presidential straw poll.
Paul received 30 percent of the vote.
Former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts came in second, with 23 percent of the vote. Romney, considered a frontrunner to win the GOP nomination for the 2012 race, was the victor in three consecutive CPAC straw polls before Paul’s victory last year.

If Mitch Romney runs, the Republicans could get my vote. I would like to get someone whose political views are closer to Reagan and George H W Bush to run for President than those of the Tea Party's or ultra conservative's political views which are waaaaaay too far right for me to get my vote.

I don't see anything different with the GOP candidates except for Ron Paul. They may be talking major cuts but I doubt any of them have the guts to do so but Paul.

Trump is a has been TV Reality star that caters the this country's lowest common demoninator. I think he ought to go back to harassing Miss USA contestants.

The country has to look past his lack of TV glamour and look for substance for a change.
The Libertarian Party believes that all persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. A call for the repeal of the income tax, abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution. We support the passage of a "Balanced Budget Amendment" to the U.S. Constitution, provided that the budget is balanced exclusively by cutting expenditures, and not by raising taxes. LP.org

Any chance you might at least get his first name correct? Do you WORK at being a dufus, or does it just come naturally?

When libs start saying they like a particular republican...you know its time to ditch that republican. All the dems loved Mccain too, till the general election. we have had enough of libs selecting our candidate, we will select our own from here on out... A little more to the right, thank you.
