Default Palin hires chief of staff for PAC

Looks like Sarah Palin is gearing up for a run at the Presidency in 2012.

JUNEAU, Alaska Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has hired a longtime Republican political strategist as chief of staff of her political action committee, fueling fresh speculation about her possible intent to run for president in 2012.
The hiring of Michael Glassner was confirmed to The Associated Press on Saturday morning by Palin aide Rebecca Mansour and SarahPAC Treasurer Tim Crawford. Palin has only said she's considering a presidential run.
Glassner managed Republican vice presidential operations in 2008, when Palin was Sen. John McCain's running mate. Glassner also served as the longtime senior adviser to former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole, the 1996 Republican presidential candidate.

Fwiw, if I were looking for help in running for Prez, I think I'd look for someone who has been on the winning side once or twice.

if there is one area Republicans have a tendency to do, its that they go back to old time advisors too often...it shows on many of their campaigns, they need fresher younger minds, the Ron Paul campaign has shown the power of the internet but so many conservative candidates dont embrace new technology and marketing strategies, they had better wake up if they want to make BHO a one termer

David Plouffe used "social media" extremely effectively.

I truly beleive he is a marketing genius, and his use of these media (texting, tweeting and facebook) made the difference for Obama.

I really appreciate her stance on many thing but her aspiring POTUS candle has burned out. I do hope she continues keeping some of the fence riding conservatives on their toes. This country needs a Constitutional kick in the ass.

I think I have to agree with you about Plouffe's skills but I think he took advantage of BHO's "unknown" factor and was able to play it in different ways to his different "markets". It won't be the same game in '12 now that PBO has been in the spotlight & under the microscope much longer. I don't think he'll won't be able to "be everything to everyone" this time around.

Similar with Palin. '08 fresh face, largely unknown. If she'd been elected Veep she might have learned to hit a curveball. But it seems like she's flailing at pitches, even lobs, and I don't think even a "coach" like Plouffe could make her a franchise player now. She does have a role to play, but I just don't think it'll be a "starring" one.
