    Default The epitome of what is wrong with schools today!

    A California school teacher rattled a table to get the attention of his math students, startling an eighth-grade girl who then used her cell phone to call police.The Selby Lane School math teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave.
    Note this is from Atherton, a very affluent enclave in the south bay area. Not a ghetto or low income school.

    being its California, the ACLU would get involved and say that a cell phone is necessary for the child's safety in an emergency so they can let their parents know they are ok, or for the school to let them know that classes have been cancelled
