Gas prices in 2000 were less than $1.25 a gallon. Wasn't gasoline almost $5.00 a gallon about 5 years ago??????? How quickly you forget.

That would have been 2001 when Bush opened up new areas of the gulf for drilling. Areas now shut down by your buddy Obama.

Everything will go up as the price at the price at pump continues to rise. Right now, all the current administration is doing is talking, no action. Until they approve some permits to drill both inland and offshore, the price will remain high.

Hopeful, the price of gasoline will help to defeat Obama in 2012. The GOP needs all the help they can get since they can't seem to help themselves.

Actually gasoline was less than $1.25 a gallon when Clinton was President and before Bush took office in 2001. Gas prices quadrupled under Bush mostly because of the unrest Bush caused because of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

'Two oil men' to blame for high gas prices, Pelosi says

    July 17, 2008
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday blamed the "two oil men in the White House," President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, and their Republican allies in Congress for gas prices exceeding $4 a gallon.
Pelosi, a California Democrat, said multiple initiatives intended to lower high energy costs have passed the Democratically controlled House only to "run into a brick wall" in the Senate because they did not receive the 60 votes needed to overcome Republican filibusters.
"The price of oil is... is attributed to two oil men in the White House and their protectors in the United States Senate," Pelosi said in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

So why didn't they do that when the D's controlled the Congress & the WH?
Are Obama & Biden "oil men" now ?!?

Hey, here is an idea, why don't we send our oil companies into Iraq and flood the market with oil which will bring down the price of a barrel of oil after all wasn't it Bush that said the war in Iraq would pay for itself with Iraqi oil?????????????

It takes several years to get oil to the pump from the time a drilling permit is issued.

Obama is trying to take credit for our 2009 oil production which was the highest ever. What he didn't admit was that oil was produced because of Bush's policy.

Obama's policy will hit us in the pocket around election time when imported oil will be at an all time high directly related to his lack of an energy policy! This administration has no energy policy. It's all pie in the sky Green Energy which if Green ever becomes viable, it is many years away. Obama says one thing and the next day, his Energy Secretary says something totally different. It's the blind leading the blind!

From what I see on the chart the price of gasoline in September 2008 less than 2 months before the Presidential election was $3.70 and the averprice now is $3.70. How did the price of gasoline double under Obama's watch and don't you think the unrest in the middle east has something to do with the price of gasoline rising even though the Obama Administration had nothing to do with the people of the middle eastern countries rising up against their leaders?????????????

Price of oil today is directly related to what is going on in the mid-east as well as Obama's policy of cutting local production. We will feal that cut in production over the next two years ot longer depending on when his administration begins to issue new permits for drilling.

They have only issued one for the gulf in the last year and have given permission to 12 others to resume thier drilling. The problem with this is that most of the equipment has moved to other countries. Investors can't wait on a fickled administration in having thier equipment standing around idle. It could take two years to get that equipment back into the gulf!
