while all those conservative deadbeats spend their tax savings on stuff like computers, big screen tv's, dog trainers, and other such extravagances.
Being a tax deadbeat seems to be a non-partisan trait.

The deadbeats are the 50% that pay zero income taxes and a bunch of those actually get money from the federal gov't at tax time that the feds stole from the other 50%. Socialism and your dear leeder's redistribution of wealth at its finast.

A tax deadbeat is one who cuts taxes before cutting spending, necessitating borrowing to fund deficit spending. I don't care how much you hate where the money gets spent, that doesn't excuse it, especially when times are good.

I have no problem cutting spending. I think that is what the conservatives want. Responsible people stop spending when there is no more money. Spenders just keep spending, I truly believe it is an mental illness. People with this illness should not be in charge of any money. Then there are the spoiled brats that think they should be able to do whatever they what and the rules do not apply to them. Most of the politicians are spoiled brats.

Our government uses our tax money like a college kid uses a credit card with no spending limit. They think the parents (tax payers) will step in and pay the bill every time it gets out of hand. Always a sad story why they needed to spend more than the approved amount. So we need to take the credit card out of their hands and cut it up. Cut them off cold turkey and help them become the responsible leaders we expected when we sent them to Washington. A bunch of spoiled whining children.

I'm not a tax deadbeat and that guilt trip never worked when my kids tried so it won't work here either.

I have to agree with Terri, Buzz. The congresscritters have not proven they know anything about "tightening their belt".

I just saw a quote recently that Margaret Thatcher said (paraphrasing) that almost any housewife knows more about how to economize than any legislator. A housewife cannot magically create more revenue, so she must find ways to make the money she has cover the essential expenses.

Many Americans are already doing this due to the cost of food, gasoline, and energy. I'd wager that NONE of the congresscritters have given up any notch of their standard of living due to the increased cost of living the rest of us are experiencing. So, it's pretty easy for them to talk about raising taxes ... as, essentially, outsiders to the "real world".

Unless we say, "No. Enough, already," they won't do a darn thing about cutting spending. It doesn't matter what party they are affiliated with.

For those freshmen congresscritters who actually think they're supposed to honor their campaign pledges to their constituency ... they should deserve some respect, not ridicule. No wonder the "established" politicians don't like them ... and don't understand why they won't tow the party line.
