    Default Hip Pocket Marks?

In another thread someone mentioned hip pocket and reverse hip pocket marking set ups. I remember doing these a few years back with my mentor. I can not for the life of me remember exactly how we set them up and ran them using just one thrower and a chair. (It was just the two of us at the time so we did some make-shift set ups). Can someone post a diagram or instructions? I know it means throwing one mark towards the backside of the second gun. But which one was further out, did you throw from the chair first or stand and throw then walk to the chair? I know, should be simple, but at the time we did this everything was so new that I lost most of the details!

There seems to be as many definitions of marking setups as there are people who describe them (even in my own training group). Here's my understanding: (G is the gunner and the x is the fall)

Very Helpful Charles! I will print these out and tote 'em around with me. Nice and simple, and now I can figure out how to use the chair and one helper!

Carol, If you would buy "Retriever Field Trial Judging A Manual" from AKC for $20 it has diagrams of these and many more setups:
    Over and Under
    Mama and Papa
    Flower Pot Configuration
    Hip Pocket
    Off the Heels
    In Line Guns
    Converging Marks

And just as important, there is a writtern description of the setups with the dos and don'ts, suggested wind direction, etc.

It also has similiar diagrams of water setups.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Wayne! I'll look for it. Is AKC the only place to get it?

(Thank you too Mary Lynn. Just saw your post)

The copy I own is not an AKC publication. It is available from the Retriever News (formerly RFTN) at their store: http://www.theretrievernews.com/Store

Wayne, I just spent 30 fruitless minutes on the AKC website looking for the book with no luck. But did find it at the Retriever News site. $20 + $7 for shipping.
