I believe that United healthcare is who handles AARP's health insurance plan that we have. Could it be the same company ?

Companies just brand themselves using AARP. Secure Horizons is part of the United Health Care group as is golden Rule Insurance.

Most of the major companies offer Advantage plans, but not in every geographic area.

You will find it difficult to get information about Advantage plans until the annual enrolment period opens later this fall. Because seniors are weak and feeble minded, your all powerful supermen and women who you elected to protect you from evil, grasping insurance sales people who want nothing more than to take advantage of you with zero dollar premiums can't talk with you, give you any information nor can we even make an appointement with you unless you consent to let us make an appointment with you (in writing) to discuss your options. I kid you not. These plans are too popular for them (dems) to take them away so they pile on the regulations so agents eventually throw their hands up and refuse to get certified to sell them. Lord Forbid you should have a choice about your healthcare.

Rant over - check with Humana, Anthem and Secure Horizons later this year for info and quotes. If you live in Wi I can refer you to a specialist in Senior health insurance - PM me.

Thanks, Red Devil. I think, vbg. The way our Insurance is set up I think we will stay with the one that the company contracts with. They pay a major portion of it. It is I guess you would say part of my husband's retirement benefit. Rewards ( ? ) for years of service. If we opt out that is the end of our using it I believe. We did not choose AARP....it was never an option. We could only choose the AARP plan that we wanted. Otherwise we would have to pay for our own health care insurance if we decide on a different insurance company.
