That's all the people need to know......At the same time, decades of contractual promises made to unionized workers, including no-layoff clauses, are increasing the post office’s costs. Labor represents 80 percent of the agency’s expenses, compared with 53 percent at United Parcel Service and 32 percent at FedEx, its two biggest private competitors. Postal workers also receive more generous health benefits than most other federal employees.

Yet another example of unions killing the golden egg-laying goose with their intransigent insistence on lavish pensions and health care. Get rid of the unions, cut the pensions and require the USPS (and incidentally ALL federal, legislative and executive employees including members of Congress) to get the same insurance the rest of us are stuck with. If that'd been the case does anyone think Congress would've passed ObamaCare?
