I like the flyer where I put it - uniform cover, but the line to the bird is challenged.

Ok, let's start by saying that this is very subjective.
However, I do not like Howard/Jeff flyers because there is a big difference from a flyer that lands in the cover and on that lands in the grass. Yes, there is always a difference between one flyer and another, but I think the difference between one that lands in the grass and one that lands in the cover is too great. Too much inconsistency and unfairness for me. I also want to see the dogs hunt. Not sure I can see the dogs hunt in the cover.
I do not like Charles' flyer, because it is a bit on the long side to me. The farther out you push the flyer, the less it looks like a flyer.
Again, my subjective opinion.

This field is HUGE. Can we find a place to put a flyer that is 150-250 yards out, and not thrown in a location where there is an opportunity to be wide discrepancies in location of falls, and we can see the dogs hunt?
I'm a HT judge just starting to run trials so bare with me here....I'm thinking you reverse the flyer a bit and throw it angle back. If the winds at my back, the birds should bank and go out/deep vs across the test. The thought is that the bird will land in line with the back of the first set of cover and deep. So the slot, plus slope of the hill plus that cover will push dogs right. Now they'll have to self correct in order to get to the correct side of the gun. Plus there looks like there's another cover change to where if the bird can land behind that, with everything else pushing the dogs right, a dog will really have to fight to get back on the correct side of the gun. But if a bird doesn't make that cover change, I wouldn't call a no bird.
Really I struggle a bit in placing this flyer. I hesitate to throw it out of the test on the right side as that cover is literally the woods and thick so I'm not to keen on placing a bird there not to mention you can't see a hunt pattern. If I back it up more still in that slot I feel like I'm framing that bird up to much as the dogs going to run down that slot anyway and then use the woods as a boundary. So their inclination will be to hunt between the gun and the woods anyway. I looked on the left side and I feel like I'd be giving the flyer away there as the only factor if shot out of the test is the slope of the hill and a little bit of wind. But if that flyer is within 200 yards of the line on the left, I'd expect most dogs to pick it up fairly easily so it'd be a bit of a gimmie (in my opinion). If I'm going to place my flyer where indicated, since to a degree it will be getting shot into the test some, I have to take into consideration my 2 other dead birds and I'm kinda left with a indented triple. Dang, who'd have thought placing a flyer could be so difficult!
Edit- sorry Charles, I see we're thinking similar so I don't mean to be redundant

Mike, I think your flyer is flying 100 yards or more.
It's bird, it's a plane, it's a frog
