About 40 years ago we had some snow in the Seattle area, about a foot. Boeing decided to cancel 2nd shift. Following day when we came in they told us to sign up for SL or Vac. I told them I would be signing for neither as our agreement stated we were paid for a 40 hour week with OT at a lower rate than time & a half. They consulted their legal beagles & we heard no more.
When I worked for Climax Molybdenum the policy was, the roads are always plowed, you know the weather concitions, you better be here & on time. Never had a problem though average annual Snowfall was around 36 feet.
