It is easy to forget that for decades the United States HAD a health care system that was the envy of the world. We had the finest doctors and hospitals, patients received high-quality, affordable medical care, and thousands of privately funded charities provided health services for the poor. I worked in an emergency room where nobody was turned away for lack of funds. People had insurance policies for serious health problems but paid cash for routine doctor visits.

I watched RP the other day on Fox discussing health care and he said that one of the worse things that happened to the system was having PPO's and HMO's. he is all for letting a free market decide and let the competition decide the costs. He was speaking some common sense

case in point...look at the cost of long distance and cellular service,once they broke up ma Bell and de regulated it costs for long distance have actually gone down, there are many choices and the consumer can decide what plan is good for them

now look at the Post Office, the cost of a letter being mailed has gone from a measley .07 to close to.40.....and the service has gotten worse, and in some cases is being eliminated, and who is the only choice but the US Government

My friends have one of those outdoor woodburners that they use to heat their house and kennel. Her kennel is warmer than my house. The salesman that sells the woodburners and says he has a few left and that they will not be able to make them anymore-it is going to become Mandatory that they also run on fossil fuels, which of course can be taxed. Maybe we will be busted for using indoor wood burners next.

I get my news from many sources. I can't remember the last time I have watched Fox News, too much hysteria and inaccuracies. The article I quoted is from Fox Business Channel were the reporting and host are much better researched. Fox Business has host like; Lou Dobbs, Gerri Willis, Neil Cavuto and John Stossel.
