Default Art Geddes= health issues (OKC folks please read! edit by Mod)

Those who run Tulsa field trials and hunt test have probably noticed I have been absent over the last year. after years of having an inherited hart problem I have progressed into heart failure which is now considered end stage. I last ran the fall 2011 Sooner trial and was then hospitalized for a week, must have been those Qualifying judges. I have been in the hospital 3 times since then, twice in the last month. After the last one I cardiologist would not clear me to go back to work. I have been listed for a heart transplant at Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City but now have to have my large intestine removed due to some bouts of diverticulitis over the last 5 years. Unfortunately I have not been able to do any dog training so my dog is going crazy. Tie intestinal surgery will be done in Okla City in Integris as I am considered high risk due to the cardiac issues. If any OKC people would be ablte to give names of inexpensive yet decent hotels in the area it would be appreciated for my support persons during this. Thankfully my insurance from work will stay in force and has very good coverage. Thanks in advance guys.

    Art,

Sorry to hear about your bad health. I don't have much to offer except that I hope you get well soon, your dogs need you!

Wishing you a good outcome with a donor found soon and a healthy life to follow. Also hope that folks step forward to take your dog under their wing and give him some birds and solid training. It will help you so much when you know he is getting what he needs. They aren't happy if they aren't doing what they are born to do and he doesn't understand why you no longer "want" to train.

Been in situations where folks have stepped forward when I wasn't able to give my dog what he/she needed and will always be grateful.

    Best Wishes-

    Art,

There is a LaQuinta about 2 miles to the west of baptist. There is also a holiday inn at nw expressway and may avenue about .5 miles east. There is a Hilton and Marriott basically across from baptist but they are expensive. Also a little farther to the west than the LaQuinta is a Fairfield inn. I don't know what is the cheapest but those are some options. I work in that area of okc as a firefighter so if you need anything else let me know.

Want to provide an update. tomorrow I go to Oklahoma City to integris Baptist for 6:30 AM heart cath. then will be admitted aqnd have surgery to remove sigmoid colon due to recurring diverticulitis. Will probably be in 5 to six days, then home. Visits if you are in area will be welcome. Surgery in OKC as I am considered high risk. Will update again when I get home. I know Whom I have believed in and am persuaded that he is ble to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that day.

Continue to bless the Lord, Art. He heals all your diseases, redeems your life from destruction and crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies. He satisfies your mouth with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Prayers being lifted for you.
