Art, I have had that surgery because of diverticulitis. It's an SOB to come back from with a good heart. I too ended up with an infection that was beat with heavy antibiotics. Hope you get your strength and that you aren't on a waiting list for a heart for too long, not that I'm rooting against any potential donors or anything...

Just wanted to post an update. The heart failure progressed to end stage and the outlook was very bad. Then on July 1 recieved the phone ccall we were waiting for. Fast trip from Broken Arrow to inttegris in OKC. Abbout 6 PM was taken to surgery and recived a new heart from a 30 year oldd young man who died in some type of accidnet. Had a rough recovery due to some bleeding in the chest around the heart, but after that made a goood recovery. The surgeon who actually removed my heart said it had about a week left and was surprised it had lasted that long. I speent 2 months in okc area with many appointments and heart bioppsies and showed no signs of rejection Now doing Cardiaac rehab in tulsa to rebuid endurance and muscle. Ready to resume traiining and about to go out front and do some pile work just to refresh Cubbie on what retrivig is,( as if he forgot.) I appreciate everyones prayers and can proclaim that God is on time, all the time,, and loves me with an unsupassing love.

Congratulations! May you live long and happy!
When it stops being fun, I will find something else to do with my time and money.

So very glad that you're feeling better! Getting back to training the dogs well surely bring a smile to you.
