Whats Romney guilty of not serving in the military? None of them have served so when you say Romney was to good to go to vietnam so was Obama. If you throw stones at Romney for not serving throw the same ones at bo.
The numbers came out today wonder what Obamas excuse is now the inherited a mess story is getting old he spent 5.3 trillion dollars since he took office and 1.3 trillion in the last 12 months.

I wondered why Biden didnt serve this is what I found out
Joe Biden dodged 5 draft attempts due to school, until 1968 when he suddenly came down with asthma...from high school.

Mngundog there's no comparison between a state having socialized health care and a country being forced into it?

Obama was around 11 years old when Vietnam ended and probably still in Indonesia. Besides, the military has standards for entry.

romney was old enough to go to vietnam and skirted the fringes to stay out, because his dad told him he was too important to risk his life. BO would not have been old enough even at the end of the vietnam war, so that doesn't hold water. He was old enough to go to Desert Storm and chose not to go because there was no draft for Desert storm, strictly volunteer. There was a draft when Romney avoided going. Before you ask about my military service. I was not in the military, because I weighed 172 lbs with 9% body fat and was told that I needed to lose 15 pounds to meet the standard. When 9/11 occurred, I tried to volunteer again and they told me that I was too old.

There doesn't have to be a war to serve in the military some people actually choose it.

That is very true. I believe we were talking about war time when Romney avoided the draft because he was too important, as did Clinton avoid the draft. BO, Clinton, and Romney, and Ryan could all have volunteered to enter the military in peacetime too. None of them did. The 2 that stick out the most are Clinton and Romney being "draft dodgers". I am not sure why Clinton dodged, probably scared to get his arse shot off. Romney made it pretty clear, that he was told that he was too important to go to vietnam. Talk about an "Elitist" attitude. It's Ok for everybody else's kid to die for their country, but my son is too important to this world to go. WOW!!!

What's the difference? If it is a socialist health care mandate, it doesn't matter if it's a socialist state mandate, or nationwide. It's still a socialist health care plan or am I not understanding something? The way I interpret your post, it is OK for each state to mandate it but not nationwide. Explain the difference please.

That is one of the reasons I don't like him. On the other hand Obama is worse ( I think ) because he hasn't a clue about what the USA is ( or should be ). Both seem to feel way too self important and I want a president who thinks more of the people and less of himself. I will probably vote for the ticket with Ryan but I'm not going to be totally happy with him as a VP. He is above what we currently have. Maybe I'm wrong but I blame our schools for much of the modern outlook that I see with the young people who are the age of my grandchildren. Not a clue !
