I am wondering about college students. Did you see the interviews played on Fox? The students were on their way to an Obama rally. They were asked if it was fair that the President was not allowed to have a teleprompter during the debate. Most, if not all, did not seem to know what a "debate" is. Some did not know he had no teleprompter; some said he should have been allowed to have one; some said it wasn't fair that he had no teleprompter.

I hope there are more intelligent college students than those interviewed. Mush, nothing but mush for brains marching off to an Obama rally.

Hopefully ther parents are not paying for their education if so they have wasted their $. When people cannot spell "debt" we know we are in big trouble !

It seems to me that most high school and college age young people were smarter in "my day". Maybe I was just dumber back then. One good thing back then was we had a ( high school ) teacher who let us argue and figure things out for ourselves. Of course most kids where I went to school had parents who let those kids learn by doing. Not many kids got to sit and play games all day. Another thing the teaching was not all "theory" with little personal experience with our teachers.

It's been a long time since I was in college but I well remember JFK being the first POTUS after I turned 18.

I don't think college kids were much smarter then as far as politics were concerned ... most did not pay much attention or have much understanding. There were maybe 10% whose vote might have been somewhat educated.

My theory on age to vote would be ... if you can't drink legally until 21, you shouldn't be able to vote. If you are in the military, then you should be entitled to vote, even if under 21, since if you are in a position where you could die for your country, you should be able to vote for the people who run it.

I think most automatically think-"If I go to college I'm smarter",soon we have a society full of educated idiots that cant pay back their loans.

Half aren't even educated. They spent 6 years on the sucker taxpayers dime to get a degree in ancient basket weaving!

Agreed!! To many have never had to deal with disappointment in life so they just expect that if they want something they should be entitled to get it.

I know several college kids at Mizzou that pride their selves on being professional students,cause as long as they are enrolled they get free rides from their parents and grants.

For example a friend of mines brother in law went to MU for 6 years I think for archaeology and once he could not milk it any longer he got a job in his (field) .he works on a construction crew running a shovel ,because he never gained the knowledge needed to actualy use his degrees,he was to busy smoking pot and being a drummer,so the standard is set that hard work isnt needed as long as you just show up.
