Thanks for the reply, Keith. Apparently, rules apply to some people, and not others. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

My mother (God rest her soul) told me that it never hurts to ask, but be prepared to get the answer you don't want...but you'll never know if you don't ask. Don't "hate the club because they are beautiful" but take what you know and use it for your advantage in the future - clubs now know the AKC is willing to work with them on a case by case basis. I would think if a club exceeded the magical number by just 3 entries, the AKC would grant an exception?!

I would think that to get around the 60 dog split rule (if you think you might go over by just a few) would be to schedule the MH to run to Monday, you can always finish early (Sunday Night), If you do get too big a number to finish in two days then you can either run Monday Or Split the Stake. Of coourse nobody wants to be there Monday, so you better have judges with good time management and they better be judges you can count on. Of course a lot also depends on time of year and latitude as to how much time you have to play with. Alaska in the summer you probably have 20+hours of daylight or Washington in December you might only have 8 1/2 hours of daylight.
