Bayer dumping retiree medical

United Healthcare has pulled their Medical Advantage program out of Sodak, which is what my wife and I were on. Since I'm a DAV, I get the majority of my healthcare from the VA, but I still carry a supplemental for times I'm unable to get to the VA for a problem.

We are meeting with Humana this afternoon to see what their 'Advantage' program is all about. Will let you know.

Well Bayer is dumping their retiree medical as of Jan 1st thanks to Obamcare.
No link as the source is my parents, Dad is a retiree. Maybe now my mother will see the light and stop being a BUMFACE suporter.

It appears that Bayer was paying for a retired persons medical, just like the auto industry did/does. The local fire dept had the same policy for many years, dropping it well over 10 years ago due to rising costs. ( note: this was WAYyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy before Obama care).

Finding they could no longer afford to do this, it seems Bayer has decided to drop the program. I doubt Obama Care is the driving factor in there decision, but rather a way to control costs.

Some problems are and will continue to occur, but proactive health care has been occuring for years in many parts of the country. Some areas are just now making major changes so it may appear that Obama Care is to blame or the reason. Not all of it is directly related.

In the Twin Cities, a major insurance provider has been buying and merging with hospitals, clinincs and specialty centers for many years now to form a huge umbrella of coverage and to better manage all costs. They now own 2 metro hospitals, numerous clinincs and 2 outstate hospitals, and can provide care from the ease metro to the west metro. While it may seem that Obama Cae is driving this, plans have been in place to move in this direction for years. This is causing some major changes in how we recieve and deliver care, but over all, it will help to keep costa down abd make coverage more affordable.

Not saying there won't be some cases where Obama Care causes hardships in the short term, but I can't accept the argument that each and every health care related occurence is cased by OC

Many large companies came out and said prior to the passage of this SOCIALIST PILE OF DOG DOO that if it passed they would ditch retiree plans. NOt a peep from the liberal BUMFACE KISSING liberal media now that the fallout is actually happening.
As I stated previously on this thread this is about more than $. It is about seniors being thrown into a confusing and for some a panic situation.
My parents will be fine and not just on the $ factor but also because they can weed thru everything and make the proper choices for their situation. However had this happened 18 months ago that may not have been the case. Dad was sick and totally out of it (totally misdiagnosed at first). the medical screw up was insane. They said at first he had a stroke while he actually just had a bad gallbladdar which upon removal fixed everything. He could not have made any sort of choice and Mom had him to worry about not insurance changes crap.
