Gas $$ vs Election
Has anyone else noticed a quick drop in the gas prices? I went to town yesterday and gas had dropped from $3.89 to $3.11 in less than a week. Last night Cheryl, my wife, went to town and it had dropped to $3.03 in less than 5 hours.
Now oil is still sitting at $92 per barrel so its not down that much. So what is everyone spin on as to why the sudden drop? Elections?
Diesel is a whole diffent story. It still at $4.11 as of yesterday.

Not dropping in NC. Paid $3.67 last week and I need to fill up soon. It was $3.72 yesterday at the same station. Hoping it will be lower at Sam's since I need to go get stuff there today.

Dropped here in Dayton, OH $3.72 to $3.36 in 2 days. Ohio is a swing state. I was wondering the same thing. When the Dayton Daily News (The Ohio Pravda) reported "Romney is gaining momentum in Ohio" the very next day gas prices dropped 10% hmmm....

Holding steady here in south Texas ($3.33). Although I would like to attribute sudden drops to some nefarious manipulation, seems to me that it is probably in the oil companies' interest to push prices up as we approach election as I have always thought that Obama was anti fossil fuel.
Any doctrine that weakens personal responsibility for judgment and for action helps create the attitudes that welcome and support the totalitarian state.

Why such a huge drop in Ohio? NC was a swing state but not so much anymore and our gas prices are going up.
Why is Ohio suddenly well below the national average? They aren't even a big oil producer or refiner.

You would think, but I don't know. There is a Citgo refinery in Corpus Christi, and there is a Citgo station just out the gate and across the street. Delivery truck has to go about 50yds after leaving the plant. That station often has highest Citgo prices in town and Citgo gas is often cheaper in Brownsville, 150+ miles away, so go figure.
