That once important personal 'library' reading material has become so socialistic, even the material that's not written by an approved RD commentator, is always screened by them.
I think only ardent AARP members continue to be enamored by that publication. It soon will go the way of Newsweek and the other 'progressive' rags.

Yes, but I only read a short bit of it. I gagged and turned the page. I'm not happy with the Reader's Digest anymore and we have talked of dropping it. We were giving it as a Christmas gift to a family member but we are about ready to drop that gift subscription also. Tired of getting something in the mail almost every week that reads like we are not up to date on the gift sub. Hubby called Reader's Digest last week to ask them what was going on. He found out the gift sub is paid all the way to 2016 ! Anyway we spent a looooong time on the phone trying to get someone to actually talk to us. He tried then I tried. Not "a happy camper" here. I got loud and irrate before the human came on the phone. Really tired of the way they do business etc.Originally Posted by HPL

It is a typical example of someone with good intentions & a good product trying to make it go beyond their tenure. But look at the foundations - I would imagine Henry Ford, the original, is turning in his grave as he watches his foundation espouse causes that he would not have supported.
