Dog breeding question

I have a black lab male that will be two years old this coming January. After a few people in the area have seen him hunt they are dying to have him breed their females. My concern is I am possibly wanting a pup out of my dog and I want to know if the number of times I stud him out will affect the quality of pups he throws. For instance I don't want to breed to bitch A first if I want a pup from bitch B if he will throw a better seed to bitch A since she was bred first. And this dog has never bred a female before. Thanks in advance for the input.

I dont think I understand. No matter how many times you breed does not create a weaker litter.

Breeding you stud will not decrease the quality of litter. Consider how the female with either compliment him or add to a feature/characteristic that you don't want to amplify. ie. Health issues etc...

Find a reputable breeder in your area to mentor you on matters of breeding. The breeder doesn't have to breed labs. Try looking on the akc website for breed clubs close by.

Are you close to Tulsa?

Just start collecting him for practice and to ensure that his swimmers stay fresh. Very important if you plan on breeding twice.

I didnt know if him being so young may make a difference in the litter quality with his first time to breed a female. I know quite a bit on training but not breeding

About the first 15 % will produce wild out of control dogs that don't mark well. The next 35% will be smart thoughtful and have pinpoint marking. The rest, let's face it, who wants a pup from the bottom 55%?

Quite the contrary. It's like working out. The more workouts you do, the stronger you get. Dog needs to have at least two "workouts" a week for a month prior to breeding. If you're going to breed him twice I think expressing him three times a week might be needed.
