My brother fired his whole crew. He told them to come back and see him the next day. He offered them their jobs back as contractors once they opened their sub contracting business and had proof of insurance. He no longer has employees he has sub contractors.

Makes a lot of sense to me, since that's basically how I operate. However, good luck to them finding the health care package as individuals that are affordable and work. To the person above who doesn't want Obama blamed, why is it that after years of being part of the same group insurance plan (which I ended up getting booted off a few years ago, since I have no employees), I've had to change plans annually to keep the costs down the past 3 yrs? Just had a new prosthetic foot made. Why did costs nearly double in the past 6 yrs? My god, this thing is mechanical, not one of the fancy things you see on TV.

I will say one thing. I do appreciate having a choice of plans where I don't have to pay for maternity/well baby care, etc for others. That always irked me. HSA plans w/ high deductables have been the only way to go for me in recent years, so it scares the heck out of me that the govt is going to tell us what is and isn't going to be acceptable in the future.
