It would be a little bit of a cross town drive for you, but Dr. Dave Bernander @ Caring Hands Animal Hospital is very good. Very good with sporting dogs, as he raises and shows pointers. You simply won't find anyone better when it comes to Xray work for OFA hips and elbows. Just a very good overall vet.

Dr. Marc Smith is also in Franklin I think. He's a regular contributor to another hunting dog/hunt test website I visit and it seems he understands working dogs well. He may even be involved with retrievers himself but I can't confirm that. He's has a lot of YouTube vids out there if you do a search.
