Demographics of Canine Athletes - survey

"I have designed an anonymous survey to help people learn more about the needs of canine athletes. It seems hard to believe to those of us who are passionate about canine sports, but there is hardly ANY research being done on injuries and conditions specifically affecting canine athletes. One of the big reasons is that the demographics of canine athletes and their people are not well known. This survey will start to change that.

I took a look too....great idea, but I cannot imagine why they would not list just "hunting" as a sport...along with working herding dogs that don't compete, police dogs, etc., yet they consider conformation as a sport? So it's not really a canine athlete survey, it's a competition survey and as such, will really help with nothing. I didn't finish it.

Sharon, send your thoughts to them. In the "comments" section within the survey..as it went I stated "hunting". There is a place at the very end as well. It would be good to get that in there!!

I agree, but it's a start. Hope it gets spread to other forums to include as many canine athletes as possible. As for categories not listed like hunting or working dogs, if enough people add their activity of choice into the "other" category they may be included at a later date. I added "hunting" there.
