    Default Devestated......... A little gdg

A friend said I should post this here from my Facebook page.......

I have spent the evening trying to make sense of it all. I can not count the mornings on the way to hunt tests I would stop and get a bag of hostess donettes and a quart of chocolate milk for my breakfast. It was one of my weaknesses, but I departmentalized that weakness to hunt test mornings. I am sure I will survive, but Beamer is going to be devastated! I would always get the bag, thinking that I would save half for Sunday morning. I can literally leave a steak on the coffee table, leave the room and come back and Beamer will not have touched it, but alone in a truck for a few minutes with a bag of chocolate donnettes, and I would come back to a empty bag and Beamer with a guilty look and nervously wagging his tail. Very similar to how he looked when returning with a bird after breaking....... " I know I am not supposed to but it is SOOOOO GOOD! Go ahead and get mad it was worth it! ". Beamer's hunt test career is likely over, and this may be the final nail as I am not sue he would know what to do at a hunt test with out a belly full of hostess chocolate donnettes. Lacy young and inexperienced as she may be will also be effected. The last few tests last summer her and I made solo trips. Surprisingly without Beamer, there were left over donnettes at the end of the trip, and sharing them was becoming our celebratory traveling meal. (Beamer celebrates with cheese burgers). She is young she will recover...... WHY HOSTESS WHY

Please duly note the sarcastic tongue in cheek tone that is in my head, it was like a run on the bank yesterday at the hostess store going after the last of the twinkles when I went by.

Perhaps some EVIL Hedge Fund will swoop in and buy up the assets and crank it up again in a new format. Meanwhile, very sad that 18,000 folks are out of jobs just in time for the holidays.

I am happy to know I'm not the only person with the Hostess donette traveling ritual. I virtually never eat that kind of stuff on ordinary days, but on travel days to training, hunt tests, or obedience trials, I almost always bring a pack of Hostess donettes, a cheese stick, and a bottle of Starbucks frappacino for the morning drive.

Oh, yeah, I've tried substitutes. Pepperidge farms cookies aren't bad. The off-brand donettes are awful. There's always the healthy alternative of a veggie sandwich or a bran muffin. Who wants healthy on a fun day?

(I won't miss the Twinkies, Ding Dongs, and cupcakes. Yech. Too sweet, even for me.)

But, I imagine the popular brands will be purchased by another company.

It should be why union why instead of Hostess. We can thank the unions for no more twinkies. The 18,000 people had a choice and they chose not to work. At least they won't have any twinkies while they are sitting around on their duffs drawing unemployment

Im totally devistated. I love them all from the pies to twinkies. It's Hostess or nothing other brands suck. Why doesnt our wonderful fearless leader jump in and save these 18 thousand jobs like he did government, I mean general motors?
